SSAT’s Upscale trend

Am I the only one who notices a trend here? A few years ago, a 2240 on the SSAT would have been in the 95th percentile. Today, they don’t even breach the 90th percentile, or so it seems. I was on the site on the other day and saw that a 9th grade male with a 2240 scored in the 89%ile while a few years back, applicants with slightly lower scores scored in higher percentiles.

Is it just that resources are getting better? What’s new?

I got 2226 and got 88% lol it’s just that with time competition gets tougher and people learn from the past I guess.

In 2016, I scored a 2151 which was the 84th percentile. Just my little anecdote.

I’ve thought SSAT percentiles are similar to SAT curves, meaning they change with every test. Perhaps the test material has gotten easier in relation to current education, so more people are scoring higher? Idk.

@CavsFan2003 How many times have you taken the ssat?

@YoungThriver Twice—once in 8th grade, and a few weeks ago in 10th.

@CavsFan2003 and you went from an 84% to a 98%? Very impressive.

@dogsmama1997 Thanks! My testing abilities somehow massively improved these few years, seeing as I didn’t really study for either (lol). Went from 1100 SAT to 1420 SAT, all that. Taking more math courses certainly helped.

It’s probably that your advanced age has conveyed wisdom.
