Ssat score!!!!

SSAT Score

I took the SSAT last Nov. and Dec. and got

Nov.
Verbal: 77%
Math: 99%
Reading: 78%
Total: 89%

Dec.
Verbal: 94%
Math: 99%
Reading: 78%
Total: 95%

The total percentile for the December one is not bad at all but i was worrying about my reading comprehensions cause I heard that schools also look into EACT subject percentiles.

I had a lot of improvements for verbal but not at all for reading.

I am applying for Andover and Saint Paul's and do anyone have any idea whether or not
this will have negative effect on my application process??

BTW I am currently attending school in the U.S., but since I need an I-20 visa, I will be considered in the international student quartile.... What should I get as an international student????

Thank you!

No it won;t be negative, 95 is perfect.

You're fine. The overall score is very good, and schools realize that you aren't perfect. (Why would you be applying to their school anyway if you were perfect?) Unless you're Asian, the fact that you're good at math will really help you. Just put your best effort into applications!

wow u totally raised your verbal score even though you're international. howd u do it? impressive

I memorized about 3000 words in between that term.

I actually got 10 wrong for analogies but just 2 wrong for vocab. so i mean vocab raised the whole thing

@pinkheart

Are you kidding about that "unless you're asian" thing, or are you serious ? Because I'm asian and I'm not too hot at math... so... are the admission people gonna be hating? Or are you just joking and going with that "all asians are smart" stereotype?

usually all asians are smart.......it's their culture especially if they live in china were they have to study for the gao kao

I'm not saying it's a stereotype, but math is my thing (I'm not Asian) and one of the math heads at one of the HADES schools told me that was a plus for me especially because I'm female and not Asian. I guess they just had some really good math people that were Asian. I realize that different people have different strengths and weaknesses, regardless of where they come from. But still, as Senay said, many Asian cultures place a high value on academics, especially math and science. I was reading somewhere that in one area of China they are teaching calculus to 6th graders as the norm. Sorry if I offended you, just relaying what was told to me. :)

for rythern: schools usually have quartile for asian dudes, and really all the asians have 99% math.... so i think you should get that too..

i myself is one

is there pacific islander instead of asian? cause i do not wanna be known as asian if there's more competition for me. im not good at math, im above average but in the lower quartile of above average, im not like sky rocket genius at it

It's Asian/Pacific Islander.

hmm ill stick to middle eastern or is it white? who has more competition, whites or asians?

about equal IMO, depends on the school and who you ask >.>
You need statistics to really make a statement for sure. Again...blind leading the blind

White. I mean even if the statistics are the same, almost EVERY asian is crazy smart so essentially its almost like the same people unless you stick out in a certain way. Being white I think you have less competition than being asian. No statistics or anything, but thats just how it seems

true istoleurnose!

mpicz, ill do both i guess. white and asian

well I mean ALL the korean students that I know who got into the top has OVER 97%... and I know many of them.. so I guess if you are white you can get 80s and still make it cause many other people raise the average.. not being racist lol. besides for international korean students, about 120 students apply for like exeter and stuff and only about 2 get in. so that is really really crazy...

Haha well I'm Asian and got a 93% on math, but I'm not stressing over it. It's true most Asians will do well on that part but others have their different strengths (:

haha, I did better on the reading section than the math.
I know there's that whole asian stereotype, but personally, I'm better at english.

It's only because of the reading section I did this well D:

helpmeoutman,
That was a very scientific study you conducted, really amazing stuff right there!

whats so scientific??
