haha, nope.

In my opinion, it means that hopefully coolgirl2010, you are selecting your school based on fit, not based on "tier."

Do you select your friends based on how popular they are or based on how compatible you are together? Applicants who base decisions based purely on popularity may find themselves in an incompatible situation. Applicants who select based on fit have a much better chance of finding a good match.

very good points, thanks!

i guess sometimes i get kind of nervous that my friends at top boarding schools will almost like.. laugh at me if i end up going to a 2nd/3rd tier school.

coolgirl2010
I'm applying as a repeat freshman, you?

im applying for my junior year.

you're gonna repeat freshman year? wow, i'd never want to do that haha. st. mark's asked me to.. but i was just like, "nonono. absolutely not." haha. why not apply for sophomore year?

Why not enjoy highschool as long as possible ;) ?

omg, id never be able to do that.
kuddos to you!
aha

Why wouldn't you want to? It gives me a HUGE boost sports wise. I'm going to be a killer swimmer! I have also learned a lot of the freshman material, putting me on the track to honors and AP classes. Win-win.

wow, i never thought of that. for swimming, thats gonna be amazinnggg, and obvi for your courses too

that is true, but i guess just the thought of staying back a year kind of scares me. i'd want to graduate at the same time as my friends back at home, and be friends with kids my own age. but that's juts me. your reason for doing so is completely admirable and respectable though, definitely legit.

i'm a year younger then 85% of my current grade in public school so I'm actually going to the spot I'm supposed to be!

oh haha that works out really nicely for you then! haha. see, i'm already older than a lot of the people in my grade, so staying back would be... completely misfit for me. haha.

Haha wow!!!
But yea. I'm a mega competitive swimmer so this will be good for me :)

haha yes, definitely. what schools are you applying to?

Only 4!
Lville, MPS, SGS, and Blair
(I was going to apply to Hotchkiss but I couldnt get the application in on time. It was during midterm week)

what's mps?

Miss Porters School

ohh i see. how did you like that school? one of my friends applied there a few years back.

It was really really nice x 100. I immediately loved it! I actually got to know a few girls in the math class they let me sit in on! They teacher was soooo funny and the girls were soo nice. the architecture is exactly what i'm used to since i grew up in an 18th century CT home. its only 45 minutes away and I immediately loved it.

the only problem is...no boys!
