St. John's Pharmacy

Hi, I've been around on CollegeConfidential for awhile now, especially looking at posts regarding St. John's Pharmacy, and decided to finally post my own question up.

First of all, I'm currently a junior in high school, living in California. I am highly interested in St. John's 6 year Pharmacy program.

Here are my stats:

-GPA: 3.65 (this is very low because I messed up my freshman/sophomore year; i obviously wasn't aware of the importance in school. However, i'm really putting in much effort my junior year; with AP Chem, AP US History, AP Lang, AP Psych, I got straight A's my first semester in order to bring that GPA up, and I'm planning to continue working hard the rest of my junior year and senior yr)

-SAT I: 1970 (I have to get this score up ALOT...)
-SAT II: Korean with Listening (750- I was born and raised in Southern California)
*I am also planning on taking the SAT subject tests for US History, Math Level 2, Literature, and Chemistry.

-Extras: CSF, HOSA, 200+ volunteer hrs, etc etc...

I just wanted this to be a quick post to see how my stats are so far... So how are my chances at St. John's Pharmacy? And if i bring my SAT score up a little, do i have a chance at receiving scholarship?
*Also, what can I do to make my application look a little better? (for example, should I volunteer at a pharmacy over the summer? Take up organic-chemistry at a community college?)

Thankyou so much! I can take constructive criticism, so please feel free to leave any comments!

3.65 gpa is more than the average accepted, but still continue improving on it for other colleges. Sat I is also more than the average accepted but improve the score by 50 to 100 pts to keep your options open. Definitely volunteer in a pharmacy, this helps greatly writing the statement and just to get a general understanding of the field (St. John’s Pharm.D program is more practice oriented than research oriented).

You’re more than qualified for the St John Pharmacy program. Since you live in California, I’ll give you the perspective of a New Yorker. And although St John does have a nice 6-year pharmacy program, you have much better places to attend (especially considering your stats). There’s a cult here where I live (Long Island) in which the dream of every student wishing to major in Pharmacy applies to and hopefully attends St John.

If you do improve your GPA / SAT I as you plan to (Along with getting nice SAT II scores), you definitely want to apply to universities with a stronger Pharmacy program than St John. There’s Northeastern, Rutgers, and Pittsburgh. I’d definitely look into them.

St. John’s pharmacy is not too hard to get into if you have decent stats (which you obviously do). It’s a pretty interesting campus and social life at St. John’s. And coming from Cali, you’re probably going to get in. You can also check out Maryland and Northeastern.

do you think i can get accepted with a 92.78 GPA currently (unweighted) and a 1950+ on the SAT? (currently i have 1800 but im planning on getting a tutor for the next two months)
