I may not be passing my spot up, anymore. :)

principalviola That is great! We could use a Viola! Why the change of heart? Must be because we are all so nice! :)

re footware at sps, you can always do what my son does. he wears sneakers regardless of the snowfall. bean boots make a lot more sense but just not cool enough i guess.

yeah, I'm gonna say no on the beanboots.

Go with Tims or some other kind of hiking shoe. It's really best to see what everybody else is wearing and then go buy shoes. You won't need them in the fall anyway.

i think sps draws a nice balance with dress. in class, the kids are "dressed" but not contrived and able to show some individuality. my son was not interested in wearing a jacket and tie on a daily basis. i was not interested in a school like milton where some students walked around in baggy jeans and turned around baseball caps. sps is a good middle ground.

Yeah...I think the Bean boots are more for girls. Guys all wearing Timberland's now.

...and rainbows - or some other form of flip flops - are pretty much worn until November and after Spring Break.

A really great conversation w/ teacher!

are we allowed to wear rainbows to class? or do they have to be closed toe and closed heel ?

oh...
I just made an account on this site.
I was accepted! I had to choose between Milton and SPS, obviously, I chose SPS. I t was just so much better.
Oh yeah...: a few questions
-Is there a mandatory swim test at the beginning of the year, like to see if you can swim across the pool without drowning?
-What exactly do you do in chapel? and What if you're not religious?
ok- I think that's all I have at the moment
:D

wat r u guys talking about? i'm not a girl
i'm a guy, lol
i've been accepted at SPS as a third former, i'm from CT in fact, winterset, i live in the town right next to u. Darien.
i'm definetly going, so anyone who is definetly going as a 3rd former and wants to make friends...

hit me back. just to chat. truly yours, - mr. mehkins

PS btw, i'm not an adult. i'm posting stuff rite now cuz i'm sick, and not at school. lol, i'm that cool

Yes, you can wear flip flops or sandals to class but I think sometimes you get grief if you try to wear them to seated meal.

Never heard of a mandatory swim test.

Chapel is more like an all school meeting with announcements, etc. Can be quite entertaining and is the favorite part of the day for many students. There are religious readings and the singing of hymns but the readings are drawn from many readings. Definitely, religion "light". I wouldn't worry about it.

That's a relief.
I'm going as a third former too! lols
But I live in Texas. When I went for a campus tour, I was the only one from the south.
It was interesting how everyone else was from around.lols
XD

i live in CT, but i'm an international student. Legally, i'm a Japanese citizen. I'm half Japanese and half Australian, lol, pretty funky, no?

like, no joke, I actually am half and half. thats probablly why i got into SPS. So tell me, what sports do u play d2g or somehting, i'm aiming for JV soccer and bball

that is pretty neat.
hmm... i dont know about sports, I'm more into music and arts. I've played the violin for about 4 or maybe 5 years now.Hmm...I think I will try for skiing. Most people think that it's weird how someone from Texas would ski so well. lols

Oh yeah, what language are you taking at SPS?
I'm taking Chinese because my parents are kinda making me, but all in all, I really don't mind. I'm mostly bilingual, but not completely.

i'm gonna take Japanese. Believe it or not, i cannot speak Japanese to save my life. lol
I play violin too, but i quit a while ago. i just don't like it, but i'm good at it.

Dude, what day are you gonna visit? i'm visitin the weekend of April 5th and 6th. We could totally meet each other and say hi on that day, lol, wow, i'm cool. I'm luc. it's pronounced "luke" but it's french (spelt with a "c"). if u see me, you can probablly guess who i am. I am rly distinctive. loll

r u definetly going to SPS? cuz, i definetly am

crp1256 - you can't wear flip flops to class, you have to wear closed toed shoes

d2g - if you want to use the pool I'm pretty sure that they make you do a swim test, but you can take it whenever you want, but most kids just swim by the crew boat docks when it's warm. And there's a girl from Texas who's a 3rd former now.

And I think that everyone should take Chinese because it's the best language ever (I take it, lol) and the teachers are really nice, and the class can be tons of fun. Plus we get to have a Chinese new year celebration and put on skits, or make movies in Chinese.

Or... if you don't take Chinese, Spanish is also really good. There is a new Spanish teacher, Senor Solice, and everyone loves him. He's teaching his classes how to salsa dance and they even had a salsa dancing competition!

GoBigRed12- I would have taken Latin if my parents hadn't argued against it. I see their point of the argument, and I could improve mine. I don't really want to take Spanish. Here at my middle school, the only foreign language offered is Spanish, as we are in Texas. I took Spanish in 2nd grade, and I didn't really like it.Which is why I am not taking a foreign language this year. The Chinese classes do sound like fun though.

As for swimming....
I know that at Exeter that you have to take some swimming test just to make sure that you are capable of not drowning in a 6 ft. deep pool; which is why I asked about it for SPS.
