Haha, no, but I'm applying next year, if my mom lets me.. She's kind of anti-boarding school right now. >_>

I'm a crappy diver, haha. I WISH I were at national level.. :@
Tell your friend Jake he's very lucky. Lucky because of what, I'm not sure, but lucky nonetheless :)

mehkins: Realize, in the diningrooms all graduates have their names carved in the walls (looks good). There are two Harry Potter's and one Voldemort. Tried to find a photo of the Old Diningroom that looks like Hogwarts but failed to find it. But just wait for the Christmas Boar's Head Dinner. Then you will realize you really are at Hogswarts! Ordered your wand yet?

Found another admitted girl (geazce). But she is still undecided between SPS and Milton. Actually her father is posting. Anyone want to help them decide?

Yes Pelicans. Google pelicans+sacrifice, and you will see it dates back to medieval heraldry. About parents sacrificing for their children (sort of what we do when we pay tuition bills or see you go off to boarding school).

umm.... actually... geazce isn't another student... that was my dad
he says that i'm deciding between the 2 schools, but I already made up my mind to go to SPS
I already enrolled... I think my dad made that account when I was at the movies...

huh???
sry, i'm kinda sick. i'm not too smart today. I am definetly going to sps, and i heard that kids who go there are referred to as "Paulies"

Pelican is the mascot i heard, ya no? u goin there principal?

Yes welcome Paulies! Now you can buy ties, scarves, glasses, even playing cards.

If any of you have an interest in crew, here is a link to a nice long video from NH TV. It discusses why we use wooden boats, has an interview with coach Chip Morgan (used to be my coach). Chip also talks about new rowers. YouTube - NH Chronicle - St. Paul's Crew

There are also a couple of Facebook pages, but don't think they are used much. Two friends and I set up one with some nice photos, but we really don't use it.

The significance of the pelican to SPS is tied up in Medieval legend. In those times, the pelican was believed to make sacrifices for its young including feeding their own blood. This symbolically tied the pelican to the sacrifice of Jesus.

The pelican became a fixture of heraldry or crests. My guess is that the pelican in the SPS crest represents the sacrifice made by the community to "feed" knowledge to the student body. As a result, I prefer the lofty symbolism of the Pelican to Paulie but I am not a graduate of the school so not my call.
