St. Paul's School Concord NH

I dont believe that the college admission statistic can compare to bigger schools such as A and E due to the fact that SPS has a much smaller community of students.

Tiger this is the St. Paul’s thread, we aren’t comparing SPS to any other school. Why would we? How is the Tennis going for you this Spring?

Winterset - Thanks for the great report. Good news all around - strong college matriculation, outstanding yield rate. Glad Matthews is around for at least a few more years - and hopefully longer.

Re those H1N1 virus (aka Swine Flu) Discussions. Here is the ‘Push Page’ that just came out:

Winterset, I love your updates, thanks.

How often is the Pelican published? Is the online version and abridged version of the hard copy? Are Third Formers allowed to write for the paper? Thanks.

The content of the Pelican online is not the same as the printed version, but it is written by the same staff. You can read some back issues, but not the most recent ones, of the printed Pelican online. The selection process for the Pelican staff and editorial positions takes place in the middle of the school year, so new students can’t write before then. The Pelican comes out monthly and leans more to features and commentary. Everyone at St. Paul’s pretty much knows any hard news as soon as it happens.

The school will be able to handle the overenrollment. It’s a little bit easier to work out the dorms at SPS because of the vertical housing, especially if the overage is split fairly evenly between boys and girls. If not, the school could change the gender of some dorms, but I think they try to avoid that. I wonder if the school ended up with the FA mix they expected among new students.

geezz amazinness! whoaa

i would like to ask how long lunch is
is it about 50 minutes?

and what is considered the best girls dorm?

Could any current students or parents tell me if there are any theatrical or musical student performances scheduled this month? PM if you’d prefer.

neato - sent you a pm

MilkandCookies - the length of your lunch depends on you schedule. Like for me my shortest lunch is from 11:40-12:30 and my longest is 11:30-12:40 but you have to factor in the amount of time it takes you to walk to places. Like it takes me 10 minutes to get to the Upper from my classes and 10 minutes to get to my classes, plus I have to repack my bag.

The best girls dorm, based on looks is Kehaya. It’s the newest and they have spacious lofts and huge windows. But best dorms depending on people, location, and other things is debatable.

thanks for the info!
and another question that has been on my mind since i started looking into bs, is sharing a bathroom annoying? (lol) are there enough of them that its not really an issue? can u take showers whenever or is there a system? (like a sign up sheet or something) and people keep their shampoo + things in their room and bring it to the bathroom when they need it, right?

haha i love this question

Sharing a bathroom is fine, never had a problem. Finding a shower is never hard except during peak morning hours and maybe right before seated meal. Other then that you’ll be fine. We have a “order” in our dorm that has just worked its self out. Its the same thing every day, depending on what time we wake up. It’s not written up or anything, just kinda works out. Some kids leave their shampoo in the bathroom others don’t. It all depends on whether you mind your stuff being used.

Is milkandcookies a girl or a boy? I am not certain, but maybe the wait could be longer for girls? Any female preppies care to chime in on this one?

im a girl
