What does that mean? Should I accept the 3,500.00 a year thing?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stafford_Loan

"Subsidized" means that the government pays for your interest during your schooling.

should i do it

when do u begin payments? during school of after it?

after.......

I need to know what to do guys

I need to know what to do guys

just accept it.

So the interest is activated AFTER you graduate right?

yeah i dont know, ill talk it over with parents

Wow IRAN.4.. You demand answers for a lot of questions that you should be able to answer on your own considering that you are a college student. There's nothing wrong with being confused, but you need to start being more resourceful and independent.

Also, you shouldn't be demanding answers in such a rude way to begin with; these people are in no way required to help you.

Why would you turn down free money???

its not free money..isnt it a loan?

i would think a student would be able to figure this out easily. since the government pays the interest rate while you are in college, just accept it and keep it in case you need it. if you find out that you don't need it, put the money in a CD account or something so you'll earn some money through interest. and then when you grauduate, keep the interest and give the rest of the money back.

024 you sound so annoying!!!!!!!!! live IRAN alone!!!!!!!!!!! Alot of people don't understand its confusing, you might think you know it but people alwyas doubt and wanna make sure...its a big deal....for those who don't have money....so since ur a college student, like you say....grow up!

So what are all of you guys doing?

jm0407 has a point that iran.4 seems to demand a lot of answers, sometimes rudely, for questions that could be solved using common sense. this has nothing to do with who has money and who doesn't since i will also be taking out some loans. maybe it's because i will also be making this decision that i can tell how easy it is to figure out a solution. i'm amused, rudymentary, that you would assume i did not understand iran.4's financial situation.

anyways, a simple google or wikipedia (like what sage did) search would do.

Yeah I know what it is, but should I do it?

Have a talk with your parents/guardian about it. A decision like this should not be made all because people online told you to do so, especially when its something based on your finances.

Me personally, I will not take out a loan, even if it is subsidized. I know that I can survive the first year and still have plenty of spending money left over for the first year without pulling out a loan, so I am not. Theres something about being in debt that I dont like so Im going to do my best to avoid it.

I see. Thanks.
