Stand a chance with low test scores?

CDad -- I want to be a believer!! This is what I am skeptical about:

after a year at one of the Claremont schools you could transfer to CMC with no problem at all.

While I have no trouble believing that it is easier to transfer within the system, than to be accepted as a transfer from elsewhere, I have been dissuaded from the notion that one can transfer from say Pitzer to Pomona with "no problem at all". I was told that such a backdoor approach had little chance of success.

How easy or difficult is it in reality to transfer from Scripps to CMC?

You might want to ask yourself why you would want to transfer? With being able to take classes and major across schools, it may not be needed. Watch out for the "grass is always greener" syndrome.

One of my friends did exactly that. She had very low test scores, didn't get into CMC and went to Scripps. Although she liked it, she ended up transferring to CMC as a sophomore. It worked out beautifully for her. During her time at Scripps she took a number of classes at CMC to demonstrate her interest in the school and it worked. Her interviewer said that the admissions officers DO take a long hard look at applicants from other Claremont schools.
It's easier then you think, trust me.

^ that's good to know. I will take a close look at how feasible that is and factor it in.
Does anyone have any other info on this?
