stand out

what site did u check?

use the phoone lol, and call up whoever comes to take u to the hospital when u call 911. lol

My only advice to you is this though... EMS is DEFINATLY not something you wanna do if its just gonna be another thing on your application.

Its a brotherhood everywhere, and they will see that and your experience will not be a good one.

but since im a city guy chances are pretty low for me to join next summer

ya probably, because city EMS are usually all paid and you have to be 18...what city? Im very familiar with cali

do sprots team reely matter

cuz i tried out and i made varsity tennis and jv basketball

my school is a combo(6-12)

Los Angeles
i literally live lin walking distance of cedar sinai, the grove, & bev center etc

sure it matters, but see the way i see all the EC stuff is you gotta get sumwhere with it.

It wont do anything for you if you just get a little involved with everything.

If your gonna play sports, be captain, earn awards.

aight but

im in alot of clubs

like MESA(math engineering science assosciation)
NJHS(national jun honors society)

and coming from a school thats prestigous in the "ghetto" make u stand out

my
school

LACES

oo LA EMS! GOTTA LOVE IT!

aha ok well then what i suggest to you is to look into cedar sinai and see if they have youth programs at their hospital. If they dont have anything too hands on. Look for doctors in the specialties ur interested in and e-mail them...see if they will be willing to have you shadow them for a while.

It can be tought and discouraging because many dont like it due to insurance/patient privacy reasons (HIPPA) but keep at it.

my best friend (white)'s mom is a physician at cedars

so

could i possibly use that to shadow surgeons?

or no chance to young

maybe. like i said HIPPA is an issue, plus you are very young, id hold off on it until you are a junior/senior

until then do things that show you are interested in medicine.

k

and my earlier question about comin from a prestigous school in the "ghetto"

reap any benefits?

LACES

Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies

it could, i really couldnt answer that. It depends on your schools profile...just do as well as you can

k thanks

should i go for a 6 year program here or india or carribean

OR

jsut go to columbia or brown for undergrad
then med school at either one

you have time to figure that out...

but i wouldnt commit yourself to a foreign medical school right off the bat

if you can get into columbia or brown and do the regular 4 pre-med 4 med then i DEFINATLY suggest that.

Calm down, you're a freshman, high school is a good time, just work hard and dont slack off, worry about this junior year when u have all your grades.

Do you want to practice in the US or in India? I'm not entirely sure about the US, but in Canada it's harder for graduates from foreign medical schools (outside of Canada/US) to be licensed to work in Canada, and it's harder to get a residency. (I assume that the same is true for the US)

screw india

here

i think you should really figure out if medicine is what you want first...alot can happen in 4 years

be well rounded in HS

ok peace
thanks for your help i gotta go to the clinic bye
