Standardized Tests and Admissions Question

Hi, is it okay to take the two required SAT subject tests in the fall? Would it be late or unattractive to colleges to do so? I'm taking the regular SAT (SAT I) in a few days (June), so the soonest test date for SAT IIs is October. I also need to mention that I plan to submit my application early (before October 1), so therefore is it okay if my SAT IIs reach the colleges after my application? The colleges I'm applying to are Ivy League, BTW. The reason I'm asking is because I recently attained my May SAT II scores, but only one of them was satisfactory. Thanks

“is it okay to take the two required SAT subject tests in the fall?”

Absolutely. I mean, why wouldn’t it be okay =)?

“Would it be late or unattractive to colleges to do so?”

No, of course not.

“I also need to mention that I plan to submit my application early (before October 1), so therefore is it okay if my SAT IIs reach the colleges after my application?”

Why submit your application that early? Normally, it’s completely okay for your SATII scores to arrive after your application, but if you’re applying through some kind of special program, the requirements may be different.

If you will be applying early action or early decision, you need to complete the tests either by the October test date or November test date (depending on college). If you will be applying regular decision, you need to complete them by the December test date or Jan test date (depending on college). As long as you complete tests by required time, it matters not whether your application is sent before the test scores or sent or vice versa. Also be aware of the following: no one of importance who makes any decisons about your admission will even see your file until it is complete, meaning all required items (application, test scores, transcript, etc.) are in. So how things are sent and in what order means absolutely nothing.
