What are the different ways you can “stand out” especially when applying to Ivies?
Special talents?
Interesting quirks?
Personality?
It just happens; you can’t plan it. That said, there is a rich fine world of colleges outside of those 8 schools.
You don’t “stand out” because you wish it. It’s not as if some magically unique feature about you is like a jacket you’d grab on the way out the door. All you can do is best present your strengths. There’s no formula (although many many site users ask for one).
Good luck
I become so sad when I see posts like the OP.
The desperate attempt to “seem” a certain way - not because you care about it, but just because you hope it will impress - is actually a really good indicator that you would not be happy at an Ivy school.
Here are a few guaranteed ways to stand-out:
-Win an Oscar/Grammy/Emmy
-Win a Nobel Prize
-Win a Presidential Medal of Freedom or a Congressional Gold Medal
-Write/Illustrate a Newbery or Caldecott Medal-winning book.
-Become the Mayor of New York City
Almost all schools would be safety schools if any of the above apply.
As you probably surmised from previous posts and my post, there is no predictable, reasonable, and guaranteed way stand out to top schools.
