I'm not sure I understand. Can't those numbers just refer to already accepted (and attending) students, not transfer students?

All students have University IDs. You should come across over 5,000 matches. So, you're going to be busy til at least Tuesday afternoon...

I'm starting to have doubts with this whole thing. Stanford often has many locals, former summer session students, and affiliates apply (and many even get in) which already have IDs. I doubt they would be uploading registration information to the sunet ID/axess servers prior to the release of decisions. They've always tried to be very quiet and secretive on their responses and I doub't they would ever make a trivial mistake such as this.

For the case of m_____, I'm still wondering why his letter states he is the Class of 2011 if hes a transfer for Fall 07.

For some reason, I don't get it. Whether 20 or even 70 admits, I'm sure their servers can handle uploading all the details on 5/15 without beginning a WEEK early.

I think we should all just take a deep breath, understand that chances are slim (we all knew this going in), and focus on other things until decisions are posted.

Good luck, all!

jacknjill - that was very very well done

haha you guys still in denial

it would be impossible to force every office/department at the university to get on the same schedule... so they go at their own pace but they need to get everything done before 5/15. the 'class of 2011' is there because the guy in charge of the message hasn't updated it yet.. and he'll probably procrastinate until just before decisions are posted. don't assume that they'll be perfect in hiding the decisions until the exact time. now stop being sucka fishies :P

hey lost, i'm with you. I'm just sayin its prob not all final - and stressin won't really change much.

Btw, All admissions are handled by the undergraduate office through Shaw and Abbott's committees. They don't even remove applications from the office. So there is only one office, one dept.

Lost did you get "accepted"?
nope.

shaw and abbot do the IT stuff behind axess and evaluate finaid, too?

Nah, Hennessy does that ;)

hahaha u won't let this die...

oh well. we're all rejects anyhow.

Lost...M__ saw the freshman admit letter. Notice that it invites him to the admit weekend of April 19-21. That was the freshman admit weekend long before any transfers could have been selected. Interesting...

I've been following along with all the posts. I have to say that if only 20 people get in, I won't feel too badly for getting rejected considering you know that there had to be at least 40 applicants who've either been on an olympic team, starred on broadway, or save an african villiage from starvation with 4.0+ GPAs ;) And half of THOSE people didn't get in...

Thank you for the compliments.

jacknjill, you have WAAAAAYY too much time on your hands : P but i appreciate the info.
It took me less than 5 minutes...but I guess the applicants who really have a chance don't even have that much to spare cause they are too busy curing cancer or something.

oh my god jacknjill, father my babes!
I appreciate the offer, but after having recently avoided parenthood, I must decline.

You are right, but logically an ID would be assigned in a specific order. ie, if I am 05511624, the next person to sign up and complete an application would get 05511625. I should have come across a lot more than 5,000, but I started with a number close to my ID number and looked at the 100 ID's there and just noticed a pattern.

I have no hopes of being accepted. I might actually lose respect for Stanford if they accept me. I will probably move on after 30 seconds of reading my rejection letter. So, I doubt I'm in denial. I was just showing why the 'system of early notification' may be invalid.

They took 20. Might as well not even log in. Its from an official article from the stanford daily.

"As a result of the high matriculation rate, only 20 transfer students were accepted."

i don't really care cuz i got into upenn wohoooooooooooooooooooooo

well....... so?

20 out 1400!!! it is just funny. Stanford should not say that they have 'a transfer class'...20 does not make 'a class'..

well, i guess stuck at berkeley for another 2 years...

We're All Doomed!!! Doomed I Tell You!!!

well, only a little more than a day away now.

everyone receive the e-mail letting them know how to access a decision online?
