^^^ thanks for the insight. have actually heard different things than from what you've posted, but any feedback from an admitted student who has successfully transferred is helpful.

Hate to do this to you guys, but I think we have a situation similar to the UC Transfer thread's "housing app".

Whereas I wasn't able to yesterday morning, it seems I'm now able to create a SUNet ID. Go here: https://sunetid.stanford.edu/main/SUNetIdApp/CreateApp and enter your university ID. It now recognizes my ID.

You entered "xxxxxxxx". We recognize this as a University ID. We need some additional identification to verify that you are the person who owns this ID.

I then enter my last name, SS#, and DOB, and the next page returns my correct full name, and a field to create a SUNet ID (which I'm not quite ready to do yet, as I want to think up a cool one).

Anyone else able to do this?

I just created one too, strange?

You went ahead and created your SUNet ID? What happens after that?

hmm I wasn't able to log in, so i guess either i got rejected, or they do it in waves?

well, i wasn't able to create one using the 8 digit number they gave me, but i was able to create one using my ssn, name, and birth date. i'm not sure if anyone can create an sunet id though, but it seems unlikely. i'm still at the "choose a SUNet ID" page though. who's gonna create one to see what happens?

that second way doesn't work p reepa ... if you just put in random numbers and a fake name, it'll still let you continue. i'm praying as hard as i can that they're just uploading the IDs to the database over a period of time or something...

i think it does not mean anthing, anyone can create one but it should be sponsored afterwards. Therefore, just check whether your id is working or not.

well who knows imran...

mine is not workig as well. However, imran, I wonder why they would do it in waves though??

i think so

so did this work for you with the UC app mlp?

When I put in an impromptu U ID:

We couldn't find a match for the number you entered (05545963). Check that you entered the number correctly. You may have received your University ID before it has been made available to this system; try again later. If you are unable to continue, contact HelpSU for assistance.

So not having the U ID match could mean nothing.

When I enter my real U ID, but then put in a fake last name, ssn & dob:

The information you entered doesn't match the information we have on record for the ID you provided. Please try again.

Hmmmm...

^^ wait, is that particularly surprising though? aren't IDs connected with the name, so that response should make sense...

here's what i dug up using CC search:

I highly doubt this ID thing tells you guys anything. Check out last year's transfer thread: I believe one person from CC was accepted to Stanford. No offense, but it's unlikely that so many of you were accepted (even given the strong credentials of our members).

6 days

so, should we all try doing it the second way, and see if we get approved?

I am still confused as to what the SUid I should be entering is.

edit: Took the 8 digit # in the confirmation email from Stanford when I submitted my application and punched it into the link the original poster of thise method gave us, and got the message saying:

"We couldn't find a match for the number you entered (my number). Check that you entered the number correctly. You may have received your University ID before it has been made available to this system; try again later. If you are unable to continue, contact HelpSU for assistance."

Correct. The main point I'm making is that I my U ID wasn't recognized yesterday, but is now.

i'm with you, brand. i'd much rather wait for a notification. however, this is interesting...
