Stanford 2014 SCEAers

Southern California ftw

Speaking of California, need to finish UC apps soon too in the likely case Stanford decides they don’t want me T.T

Idaho… represent

-as far as attractiveness goes, i think its pretty universal, despite the redneck potato farming hick stereotype attached to us there are quite a few hotties at my school. I dont think its somthing that changes as much as people pretend it does depending on your area.

Northeast Florida up in here.

We have… oranges?

Southern california right here! More attractive people than northern cal!
Just kidding, i have no idea…

No, we’re definitely more attractive up North. Sorry nick ;)

26 days 10charsja;ldskjf;laskjdf

norcal>socal. hotter AND smarter

It’s interesting seeing where everyone is from. LOADS of Californians.

New Topic?

Hmm… Anyone interested in doing the “post your essays’ opening lines!” thing? They have a thread like that in the essay forum, and it was really cool to read. We could do it Stanford-style.
Considering that opening lines have to fit with the entire body of the essay, I don’t think they could be easily stolen or anything. I dunno. Thoughts?

Also, how does the decision date jibe with you guys’ midterm exam schedules?

Dec 15 is technically the day right before my exams are supposed to start. Except… I don’t have any this year. They just implemented a policy saying that if you have an A average in the class, you don’t have to take the exam. So no exams for me!
Still, though, that means that I may learn my decision on the day before a 3-ish weeks long Christmas break, and won’t be able to tell anyone until I get back.
I think it’ll be like last year, though, and the decisions will be released the Friday before. This year, that’s the 11th.
That makes me really excited… Because next week is Thanksgiving break, which passes really quickly… And then, once school’s back, it’ll only be one week away!! Ahh!!

id rather not post my opening lines
stanford admissions officers sometimes read CC posts so i dont want them knowing my posts :)

Ohh, I see. Strange, didn’t know they looked on CC. Cool, though.
I wouldn’t really mind if they saw my posts, but I don’t think there’s anything particularly worth looking at, either. Pretty boring stuff, haha.

Well I would assume that they look… if trace it back. This forum is featured on naviance. Naviance is what high schools use to upload transcripts etc. onto the common app. Stanford strictly uses the common app. So it’s understandable that they would know about college confidential too.

does anyone else still not have their secondary school report not processed?

Not all schools use Naviance; mine doesn’t, and my counselor sent transcripts and whatnot through snail-mail. Of course, we’re a small/new high school, so I imagine that’s why.

Well I’m saying for schools that do over the computer… and most schools do. This means that Stanford knows about what Naviance offers. So chances are tha they know all about us … muhahahhaha :D

good luck to all! I was just sitting here and thinking… more tha half of us won’t even get in. None the less, I wish you all the best of luck… 25 days :DDD

It’s all cool, man. I’d actually heard of it but I had no idea it featured CC or anything! Part of me wonders if I should suggest it to my counselor/school. I don’t think they’ve ever even heard of Naviance, and it might be helpful.

Yeah, it’s kind of sad. But I’m sure everyone here will end up at great schools, even if not what we consider our “dream” school right now.
Good luck everyone…

Oh, and… I call dibs on making the official decisions thread!! :D

haha. niiiiice. You should TOTALLY suggest it. It’s wayyy quicker than mail. in fact… IT’S INSTANT!!

True… good luck to all.

And I HOPE I CAN POST AN ACCEPTED POST ON THAT THREAD!! WOOOO

The thought makes me a very happy girl :0)

I hope I won’t be posting in font red heading.

Cool. I just filled out Naviance’s contact form to get more information :)

Hahaha… Let’s hope Stanford is as green-friendly as they say, ey?

haha nice. green friendly = the best!! Boo to the RED!

To Nitro Hawk: You’re from Idaho too? So am I! Go state with the potato streotype! (lol Boise is actually the second largest software industry in the US, second to Silicon Valley and most of us have never actually been to a potato farm lol)

I’m really curious to know what Stanford is like and what a “diverse” society really means lol. At my school about 97% of kids are Caucasian and I am one of two kids of Hindu Indian ethnicity (My grandparents are from India, but my parents are from Malaysia), so it would be interesting to have a different perspective. Everyone is actually really kind and open minded here even though it’s very homogeneous.
