I would totally be Articuno…

Prussia, I’m with you (sort of…). My parents both came from larger families, so after elementary school they’ve been pretty hands off with academics/extracurriculars. It’s good to know that their only concern is that I simply put forth my best effort without any numerical achievement attached to it. It’s made high school so much better, because school-wise my parents are only involved when I have a conference with my advisor or when my report card gets home.

Starmie, I thought it was really funny how your parents kind of take grades for granted and the report card is kind of like a 30-second distraction. That also happens with my parents.

Oh man, gotta love the parents. Seriously, I don’t know what I’ll do without them next year.

Collegeguy2014,

I totally agree too. The support by my parents, especially during these trying times, has been invaluable to my psyche.

<------is excited for new 30 seconds to mars CD

Ooh, just checked Axess. Everything is now in! Scores and all. Hope they got my SATs first.

<– Is excited about getting a new haircut this weekend!
(Geez, I’m such a girl.)

^ Same here, Prussia!

About Axess, not the haircut Actually, though, its high time for my basketball buzz.

Next course of action —> stalking the adcoms.

Ha :)

Also, I just noticed that https://admit.stanford.edu/ already accepts the class of 2014.
Click, and be automatically accepted!! …Right?

OH my haha. that’s funny. :)

Just checked Axess, and all of my materials are finally in! Now I can stop staying up until 12:30 every night to check. Of course, I don’t get to relax just yet, since I still have to complete the extra form for my Aleut blood… Thanks, Grandma. >>;

Also, for all those who were wondering, Starmie is my favorite Pokemon. And also something of an inside joke on my (extremely nerdy) water polo team.

Usually in my posts I try to say my opinion and then come up with an axiom for it, but in this case I’m freaking out! I checked Axess today and they still haven’t processed my ACT scores. I usually try to act calm and maintain this appearance of being sagacious, but right now I feel like a scared helpless child! They have received everything except my test scores apparently but I sent all my stuff on October 14! What should I do? Panic, roll around in fetal position, or just wait a little longer, but how long?

Sent my SCEA application to Stanford too, interview on Tuesday… lol I really hope it goes well

Divvio - don’t worry about it, my scores just processed yesterday even though they got sent in last month. If they don’t get your scores by the 17th, you can also send them again

Thanks, that actually makes me feel a little better. I appreciate it.

SAT/ACT scores r usually the last thing to be processed
just recheck daily :)

Do we have to send in our AP/IB scores? I already listed what I got in my application

If so, how do we send in IB scores?

From what I’ve read, you only need the self-reported for those. I’m 100% on that for AP, but I don’t have any experience with IB. I would assume it’s the same, though.
You do end up sending them after you’ve been confirmed acceptance.

How are you guys doing on your other applications?
Both in filling them out and submitting them…

Personally, I really don’t want to spend the money to submit anything else until I’ve confirmed rejection from Stanford… App fees are expensive.
Also, I’m embarrassed to admit the entire prospect of an interview terrifies me horribly and I’ve been putting off reserving one MIT says you have to do it by Dec 10th… So darn close to SCEA decisions!! Not fair! Push that back a week, MIT, daggumit!

I have to submit the UCs and Harvard(priority deadline) before decisions are out, but everything else will pretty much be afterwards.

^What’s a priority deadline?

Also, I can’t decide if this is inspirational or not, but a friend of mine got deferred -> rejected from Stanford SCEA last year but then got accepted to Harvard RD. :)

Honestly? Not sure. Collegeboard website thing says on my little calender – “12/01 - Harvard C: Priority application deadline.” I don’t know if this is just outdated from their old days of having early apps, but at any rate, I plan on applying there whether or not I get into Stanford anyway, so might as well have it done by then. (Though I’m 90% sure I’d choose Stanford anyway.)
Some colleges have priority deadlines for sake of scholarship considerations, but I doubt that’s the case for H.
So, I dunno!

Priority deadlines usually refer to scholarship consideration deadlines (Ex. USC). But I know for Harvard, it’s just when they officially start going through applications. With schools that get tens of thousands of applications, they like to space them out a little bit and priority deadlines help. Also, they help for interview scheduling purposes.

KevRus-- thats inspiring for people who would rather go to Harvard
But it’s not surprising. At my school, our Stanford admit rate is 11%, and our Harvard one is 16% so I feel like I’m more likely to get the axe from Stanford (hahaha pun totally intended).
