**Stanford 2019 Deferred REA Applicants**

@gravitas2 thanks so much! will do!!

@gravitas2 Do you think it would be okay if I contacted them to confirm that my form was received? I received an automatic confirmation email right after I sent my form, but I’m just so paranoid–especially after I read that "Deferred Gratification"article (the author mentioned that her admissions officer told her she never received the form). Some of my updates were pretty big, so I really want to make sure they see them!

@sjsprint Yes, it wouldn’t hurt to call to confirm. I think the admissions staff will understand. Best wishes!

@gravitas2 Thank you! You are so sweet for helping us out so much over the past few months. I always appreciate your advice.

^ditto!

The notification date is getting closer and closer. We have less than a month left to wait before the final decision are given out. It has been a long winter for all of us, especially since we have all been deffered, but it will all be over soon. In any situation, I wish all of you the best of luck.

@MajorlyPsyched I feel the same way. I hope we all make it–the wait has been too long! Can you seriously believe that we applied in NOVEMBER?! It has been absolutely ages.

I submitted my app in early October. That means I will have spent close to HALF OF A YEAR waiting to hear back from Stanford!!! @-)

I also submitted mine in October. It feels like a lifetime ago that I put in my application. It’s really exciting to see the decision day get so close.

wow…it’s been 6 almost months…this is agonizing

Did any of you get any likely letters or admission into MIT???

Did you?

No! Just wait listed at some colleges!!

.

Sooooo it’s official that decisions will be released on March 27… Freaking out. :-S

Thanks for the heads up, @KelMoo. (going to go freak out now…)

@codbass Denied from MIT, got into Berkeley. But my #1 choice of schools I’ve been accepted to most likely remains UT Austin  Good luck with Stanford everybody, I hope we all get in!

OK, “Deferrees”, we have waited out this Stanford decision for nearly 5 months! Now only 2 hours to go to hear from our dream school. We have been persistent . . . we have been patient . . . we have been optimistic. Hopefully our friends at The Farm will realize that this group has what it takes to be a part of the Class of 2019. DEFERREES UNITE!!!

I feel like we should leave something here for next year’s deffered students. We should all post some advice to get through the months between decision dates. I’ll go first:

One thing that I found helpful was to keep myself busy. Keep working just as hard if, not harder, at your schooling and extracurricular activities.

Also, set up your alternatives. Put Stanford out of your mind for a bit and start considering other schools. It will be a lot easier to wait when you know you have something set up in case you don’t make it in.

That is my two cents. What do you guys think?

@MajorlyPsyched Totally agree. To future deferred students, I encourage you to use this deferral as a source of motivation, not disappointment. Push yourself to do even better and work even harder than before.
