Stanford 2025 REA

Hi! @OockyBoocky If you don’t mind me asking, did you apply for financial aid to Stanford?

Yes, I applied. Sad that Stanford is not need blind

No. Stanford definitely doesn’t admit high scores to offset low scores. Logistically, it just doesn’t work like that. You present a student to your committee and make your pitch for why they’re compelling. You discuss. You vote. That’s it. There’s no discussion or comparison of scores.

Makes sense.

Aaaahhhh I applied Stanford REA and am so axnxious for the decision. It is my dream school, but I do not think I have a great chance of getting in compared to other students, but we will see. When is the decision going to be released? Is it on the 15th?

Seems like colleges are pushing for later decision dates so I wouldn’t be surprised by a decision on the 15th. However, if it comes earlier than that, it would come on Friday.

Are you sure? This is what Stanford web site:
At Stanford , we are committed to providing a comprehensive need -based financial aid program that makes it financially possible for admitted students to attend. Our admission program is need -blind , meaning, for all but some international applicants, financial status will not affect the admission decision.

Interesting, because they used to write that they are need-based for internationals. Also read it on several another platforms. Still interesting that they write “some international students”. What does that mean?

Stanford was the only school on the common app that didn’t ask about financial aid, of the 10 or so my daughter is applying to. It seems they take their need-blind commitment more seriously than other schools which claim to be need-blind, but still ask if an applicant is planning on applying for aid. We are not international, however.

It still asks that question to international students.

Are you an international student? If so, that might be a different story.

@oockyboocky is an international applicant. Unless the international applicant holds a green card, Stanford is need-aware for them.

I was unable to take the ACT/SAT because of the coronavirus, does that put me at a disadvantage and make it less likely for me to get accepted into Stanford?

Same here. Arrived to the test center, there was a paper which said that test is cancelled (the day before quarantine was announced)

Hey guys, I was wondering how many of you got interviews? I know they are optional but I live in an interview area, and the two other people from my school who applied were contacted. I guess I feel like without it I’m at a disadvantage no matter what the Stanford website says. Do you know if people have generally gotten in during previous years with or without interviews?

I also did not receive an interview and was wondering the same thing…

How do we know when they will announce the results?

Same, I am speaking for a friend. The valedictorian 1490 sat, no finaid, NGO founder, school president, original research applicant did not get an interview but the 1540 sat, rank 5th, good activities but not as good as the first one did get one. What do y’all think? I personally would love if both got in but very hard to get 2 in in one year in especially hard times. International students here

We don’t know for sure but it’ll most likely be tomorrow based on past years.

If there is no announcement today does that mean that decisions are not being released this Friday?
