When: July ‘23
Hotel: stayed near the SFO airport, at a Hampton Inn, which was fine and not so expensive
Food: Ate on campus at the GSB, at the Coupa Cafe, and it was good. Quick food.
Getting there: We rented a car.
Vibe: California chill, friendly, very confident
We liked it more than we thought we would. One surprising thing was that our student guide felt very connected to her professors (she wasn’t being taught mostly by grad students), but she was in a very small major. Also surprised to see paid consultants in the parents’ meeting at Admissions, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by that. It’s just disheartening because my student won’t get that support. Would recommend arriving in time to hear the student panel and parents’ panel (held separately but at the same time). That was the best info I got. And no one gets in to this school, so your kid has to apply and plan to go somewhere else, which is hard.
