Stanford Chances so far...?

I am a junior in HS right now and these are my current stats and EC's etc:

3.9 UW GPA / 4.6 W

I just took my SAT 2 weeks ago and should be getting those scores soon.

EC: NHS, Spanish Honor Society, Drama Club, Charity Water Club, Invisible Children Club, Readers Anonymous (book club), and I am in the process of starting/ being president of Animal Welfare club on campus.

Achievements:
1) Went to Africa and volunteered my time with Lion and Cheetah cubs in Zimbabwe helping to rescue them and return them to their natural habitat.

2) Helped teach African school children in Zimbabwe about wildlife conservation.

3) Became a member of the Goldren Retriever Society of Arizona and set up a fundraiser to raise close to $2,000 for the charity.

4) Was a foster home for 7 cats at any given time.

5) Volunteered over 200+ hours with NHS + other community service clubs.

6) Internship with the EPA in D.C one summer.

7) Internship at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ.

8) Took a year of Spanish over the summer just to get ahead to the highest level by senior year and challenge myself.

I've taken all honors/AP classes.

My honors chemistry teacher went to Stanford and she's going to write me an excellent rec letter.

I know my SAT/ACT score and essays are a huge part of the admissions process, but until I can report those, am I on a good track for Stanford ?

It’s a reach, but if you can maintain a 2300+ SAT/34+ ACT, it’s manageable.

I was just wondering …why is it a reach?

Because people with 2400 SAT, 36 ACT, and impressive ECs have been turned away from Stanford. It’s a reach for everyone, not just you.

Read more of the chance threads, and go look up some of the results threads for Stanford. You’ll see why Stanford is a reach, for EVERYONE.
But keep up the good work- you definitely have a shot.

Unless you have hooks, your chance of getting into Stanford is less than 5% even with 3.9+ and 2350+.
