Does Stanford share my admission decision with my counselor? What about other top universities - Ivies?
If I don’t want university to share my decision with my counselor, is there a way to do so?
Since, I really don’t want my counselor to know my college decisions since it is my own privacy - especially if I get rejected. And I feel like that it would be slightly awkward to face my counselor since he helped me quite a lot thro this process . If he knew I was rejected due to the uni telling him. I don’t want him to feel that his efforts were for nothing.
And if I get accepted, I could always just tell him in person and share the good news instead of having the uni sharing it for me.
So does universities share admission decisions with counselors?
No.
dont worry about how you college counselor will feel.
MOST - 95%- of Stanford applicants are rejected, regardless of what counselors do or say.
Thanks, I just wanted to find out if the university will share my decision with my HS.
And the answer is No as you said.
Yeah I know, but my counselor was super helpful and went out of his way to help me with this process.
good luck!
I hope you have lots of applications already submitted or ready to be submitted to other less super competitive colleges as well, especially if you applied SCEA.
Nothing spoils the Xmas break like having to fill out and write essays when one is disappointed. So if they are not done, do them now.
They definitely won’t!
Extra info: I was, in fact, reading some Stanford rejection letters (because I’m just as paranoid, 18 days left) and they mention that they won’t post you a letter, as they understand this was not a hoped for decision, unless you ask for one.
