Wow, Congrats to your nephew!!!
Did he have alumni?

Just after 4 pm.

Just checked and I was accepted to Stanford as well. I am excited but sad that none of my friends answered, to share my joy.

This whole process is a lonely one amongst friends who are competing for similar opportunities. Those closest to you (family) and strangers who have been comforting on theses sites are proud of you and your stats that git you here! Please share with us your stats, interview vs. no interview
Congratulations best wishes for you on the farm!

Thanks yall. I do find comfort with your guy’s messages.

I am from a poor immigrant family and to sustain ourselves, I worked as a grape harvester at the age of 14. This was my main essay topic (worded in a completely different format). I love learning and took the 4 AP classes offered at my school. I submitted no SAT/ACT because I could not find the time to take the test, and I did not do an interview. I wasn’t part of much clubs, rather I did independent projects like fundraising to help in the Yemeni Humanitarian Crisis. I find peace helping others even if its an ocean away.

Congrats on your accomplishments!

This is a hard week for some kids. Friendships also evolve senior year and the realities of everyone going in different directions set in all at the same time. That melts away as you move towards graduation! There will be people thrilled to celebrate with you! Enjoy!

My son did not get in. It was my dream from the day he was born that he would go there one day and it ended last night. He put in a lot of effort in school and we did so as well but that is how life is. Stanford is a long shot for anyone and I am happy that we put in our best effort.

Congratulations to those who got in!

Thanks for your post. My father went to Stanford in the 60s for Masters but I could not make it so I wanted my kid to go. As you say, he can still go for Masters. My daughter applies in 4 years so we will try again. My son however was the more academically accomplished one but she may catch up too. Either way, time to move on. We have some good school decisions coming up next year so waiting for those. Good luck to all.

Alternatively he can go to another great college, thrive academically, graduate at the top of his class and go on to start a very successful company. He can then donate annually and generously to his alma mater while sending Stanford $1 every year stapled to a printed copy of his rejection note.

Just another option😀.

I am sure it is a sad and bitter day but no doubt he will rise above it and find his college home!!
