Stanford Essays

<p>Are essays more important for admissions at Stanford than at other schools? I heard they place a lot of weight on the essays, so I was just wondering.</p>

<p>yes they are more important for admissions at Stanford compared to at other schools on that level...
however, i dont think its just the essay alone. The essay is the best way to determine an applicant's personality, life circumstances, and attitude toward life. Stanford values a holistic approach more than many other schools, and thus places a lot of weight on the essay.
That being said, I doubt you can get into Stanford by slacking off and just having an amazing essay.</p>

<p>blah. I don't like my stanford essay, since i had to turn it in before i got it edited for the rest of my schools. Damn December 15th deadline.</p>

<p>by the way, are you a ballet dancer? Because I haven't met very many other people on here who do ballet.</p>
