Stanford Essays

Hi,

I am having some trouble with the roommate essay on the Stanford supplement. I don't want to just list qualities about myself, because that is probably what everyone does, but at the same time, I don't want to kill the essay trying to make it too creative. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I write it in a letter format, or is it best if I write it a a normal essay format?

It’s an essay you can have fun with. You can never kill it by being too creative. Most of the essays are boring. Write something that will feel like a breath of fresh air to the reader.

It can be any format you want - does not have to be formal.
