STANFORD KIDS: Chances so far of getting into Stanford?

Hello!
I am currently a sophomore and (I know I still have two years ahead of me) but I would really like some advice about how to get into Stanford as a Senior.

Current Standing:
Weighted GPA: 4.46
Unweighted (4.0 Scale): 3.8
Schools: I attend a regular school and a magnet Mathematics/Science school (acceptance rate 7%)

Clubs:
Weight Lifting
Philosophy Club
Science Olympiad
Academic Team
Math National Honors Society

Competitions:
1st VA Science Olympiad for “Biosphere” (7th grade  )
Honorable Mention for Toshiba National Science Fair (9)
3rd place Regional Science Fair (awarded by International Society for Computational Biology) (9)
3rd place StepUptoLoudoun (8)
6th place StepUptoLoudoun (7)

Test Scores:
(Old PSAT) 179/240 (8)
(PSAT 8/9) 1300/1440
My new SAT score will come out in two days, so I will edit this with my score.
My PSAT score will come out in a month, so I may also edit this with that score too.

I will enter RSEF next year of hopes of getting into ISEF.
I will apply to my VA Governor’s School this year for Medical Science
I will also apply to Janelia Internship and George Mason (ASSIP) Internship
No AP Exams have been taken (yet!)
I ALSO KNOW ESSAYS REALLY COUNT! So I have already been practicing.

PLEASE any recommendations!!! I feel like I have the bare minimum, and I really need some advice to help me stand out when I apply as a senior. THANK YOU

If you’re a sophomore and your record already looks like this, I’d say you have about a good a shot as any. Keep your GPA up, though. Try to keep your unweighted as close to 4.0 as possible. A fantastic essay can help you stand out as much as nearly any particular credential, so really be thinking about that, too. Standford, however, has a ridiculously low acceptance rate, so any person is a variable and no one is a sure shot. But I believe in you! Even if you don’t go to Stanford specifically, you should be able to get into an amazing school.

It’s a little hard to chance you so early on in the game, but I’d say you’re definitely on the right track! Get that GPA over 3.9, rock the SAT, and keep up looking for extracurriculars that you’re passionate about. Maybe look into RSI as well? You seem like you’d be a good candidate for it.

Just so you know, most colleges don’t really care about what went down in middle school. So middle school grades/awards don’t really matter much anymore.
