I was just accepted to Stanford, Columbia, Harvard, UPenn, UChicago law schools. I am currently a senior at Amherst College. I have plans to do a joint degree program JD/MBA. I want to go into investment banking maybe. I am having a hard time choosing. My pre-law advisier said I can't go wrong if I attend either of them. I have visited all of them and was impressed with all of them especially by Penn, Harvard, & Stanford. I need some help. Please any advice will be helpful. BTW, I would have posted in the "Law School Forum" but it is not as active.

Runner,

there seems to be a disconnect in your postings because you also stated the following:

I currently a junior in HS. I have decided to apply early to one of these schools. My stats are phemonial and i have an amazing hook. My SATs were 1510 and I'm deciding on my SAT IIs. I want to major in Government/Political Science. I have aspiartions to go to a law school esp. Yale/Columbia. Which one can apply to and receive a phenomonial education and I know mes profs. Name recognition is less important but has some weight in my decision. BTW, I cant stand intro classes larger than 55+. I am also considering Amherst, Williams, and Swarthmore.

Telling the truth is a good thing, so I would suggest that you get into the habit of doing so. Lie on your college applications, then you won't have to worry about , Columbia, Harvard, UPenn, UChicago law schools, because you won't even get into ollege.

At this moment, why don;t you focus on getting into college.

Any comments?

I'll give you a comment but I would get in trouble with the Mods.

"Why is it that all the tricksters want to become lawyers and investment bankers?"

Wait- I'm a lawyer! I just hope this kid doesn't wind up at my law school alma mater.

MOWC: Honey, I am too! And one of those fantasy schools in the op is my school!

Mine, too!!! I wonder if we went to the same school? It was in the dark ages for me.

Runner, look at all of the posts in your name, people saying they are your friend, cousin etc., claiming to be sophomores, juniors in H.S. Either you do not log off, and so someone else is posting, or you have woven a tangled web yourself....

MOWC...mine is in my profile. I loved and love it, but I don't really post about law school. Somehow I feel that that playing field has changed too much for me to be familiar with it or to be able to give any helpful advice. For one thing, I took the LSAT when it was still on a 200 to 800 scale and I don't even understand what the new scores mean--and have no particular desire to learn (so don't anyone kindly teach me :) )

MOWC/Patient -- 1 of those 4 is my school too. Hmmmm - maybe we were all classmates! My law school days post-date Nixon's resignation and pre-date John Lennon's death. What say you -- might we have scawled in bluebooks together?

PT: Missed your post. Let's just say my law school had far less sunshine than yours.

Dunno. I believe that Coureur's wife is a schoolmate of mine (though younger than me, as most people are. I graduated in 1978, better known as the "good old days", in my mind anyway...)

Mine was the one in the middle of the country! I am still working full-time, unfortunately, since Wild Child is the bottomless pit into which we deposit the family's money. Not to mention his older sister at Rice.....
I agree with you about LSAT. I have NO idea what it means, and I don't even remember my own score!

all i’m going to say is this: if you’ve gotten into these top tier law schools, you should have better grammar. your counselor cannot tell you to pick “either,” since this would mean that you are choicing between two. Good luck.

Patient–1984 grad of that law school with less snow than the others. Count JHS as another 80s grad. The good old days seemed to be cheaper than the present. Only had $5K in student loans upon graduation. I’d be hard pressed to accomplish something like nowadays.

I know this a ■■■■■ post, because nobody who is this much of a prestige hound would have any trouble deciding which of those law schools to attend.

All I’m going to say is this: If you’re going to criticize someone else’s grammar, yours should be impeccable.

The other person may have misused “either,” but you have misused “choicing.” The appropriate word is “choosing.”

I’m not even sure whether “choicing” is a word at all.

OP was made in 2005… ;)

I get sucked in every time! So OP is probably at SLS as we typed…LOL.
