Stanford Odds

Hello!

Last year I got a 33 on the ACT, with 34 in English, 35 in Math, 30 in Reading, and 32 in Science. Took Advanced Algebra and Pre-Calc last year, will take Calc AB/BC AP tests in the spring. Planning to take math courses at the local university next year. 4.00 GPA, all As. Overall good academic rigor. Played Varsity #1 Singles/Doubles for tennis and won two rounds at state. Involved in drama, musicals, physics club, math team, debate, forensics, and national honor society. Played a Class A solo and got a 1 at state. I play viola as well (I'm good, not amazing).

I'm still a sophomore. What specifically can I do to improve my chances at being accepted to Stanford? Thanks in advance.

If you are a really good tennis player, you may have better odds at some Ivies as a sports recruit.

You are all over in your ECs. What major are you targeting?

I really love math. I’m planning to apply for a Stanford Math summer camp. Not sure which major exactly. I’m good compared to the rest of Wisconsin, but I’m not going to get any tennis scholarships to big schools.

Tennis might be your best bet if you can be a sports recruit.
Or, USAMO or Intel and so on if you are good at math and science.

33 on ACT as a sophomore is not a big deal.

To go to Stanford for athletics is tough. Ivies have no scholarships for athletes other than FA but their athletes have to be much better scholars.
