Stanford out of state-Can I do it?

based on your profile, im almost positive youll get into stanford. You have something that most high school students dont have, and that's scientific research. You've been actively involved in science programs, research ect, that goes beyond just test scores and awards. It shows that you have a passion in the subject.

good luck

^^ everyone was positive that chillaxin would get in, and she didn't. The only thing we're positive about now is that it isn't possible to be positive.

But she got into Harvard!!! Basically, we can't be positive (he has a very good chance) the OP will get into Stanford in particular, but we are almost certain he will get into a peer institution.

We must correct the misconception that East coast kids are at a disadvantage in admissions at Stanford. It couldn't be more from the truth. My guidance counselor, as well as many other users online, believe that East coast kids will not be hurt, or perhaps even helped, by their geographic location. Stanford, in 2005 I think, changed their dean of admissions. Richard Shaw, from Yale, took over the position, thus starting the "campaign" to eliminate that state school appearance. East coast kids should appreciate the fact that they are considered "diversity" now to Stanford.
