Hi,

I’m an aspiring psychiatrist, but first I aim to double major in biology and psychology. If anyone has had experience with the Stanford Psychology program, can you summarize your time spent studying this subject? Also, any tips on how I can portray my love for psychology in my essays? I took the AP Psychology test and have a really close connection with my therapist (who I’ve seen for almost 10 years and is truly the inspiration I have for pursuing this career path). I just feel like it’s hard to demonstrate my passion for the subject.

Stanford has an excellent psychology department in social psychology, cognitive psychology and other areas, but as far as I know it doesn’t have a clinical psychology (therapy) program at least within the psychology department.

That’s not a negative at all, just something to be aware of when you write about what you want to get out of psychology at Stanford.
