Stanford Raises Tuition to Over $37K

Haven't they heard there is a recession on and people have less to spend?

Stanford To Raise Undergrad, Grad Student Fees - cbs5.com

^ that's a bummer.

aww man, that aint cool

god damn it.

I'm one of the unlucky ones who is just over the point of getting aid :(

*I'm one of the unlucky ones who is just over the point of getting aid *

Same =/

"unlucky"... ha, quit whining. (there's a reason Stanford stops giving aid after a certain point, a generous one at that...)

If i have an EFC of 0 does that mean I go to Stanford for free since Stanford meets need 100%?

If you have an EFC of $0, your parents are not expected to contribute to tuition & room/board. The student is expected to come up with approx $4K for freshman year (savings, summer jobs, work study).

To add onto what Fresnomom said, if you get a scholarship, it goes directly towards covering the student contribution. So if your EFC is 0 and the student contribution is 4k and you get around 4k in scholarships, you're looking at a free ride.

wow and I thought stanford was generous...

I just wanted to clarify that after reading their financial aid policy...it's not as generous as I had expected it to be.
