Hello!
I have a question about the Stanford short essays, and I'm sorry if this has been asked before.
In the boxes it says no less than 250 words...what is a good estimate of how long the essays should be? Right now mine's about 300....could I go longer? Is 500 too much?
Thanks!

300 is fine, 500 might be too much.

500 shows a basic disregard for the rule seeing as youre doubling the quota. Not likely to score you any more points. No more than 300 (350 tops) in my humble opinion.

I'd try to cut it down a bit, if only to improve the quality of the essay.

300 is ok but I don't think 500 would be a good idea. Remember these people are reading thousands of applications I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate it if you wrote twice as much as they suggested.
