Stanford undergrad to medical school admissions

Lake42ks: Sorry, Stanford did not say how many of the 297 were seniors, but I kind of assumed that all were seniors because they said at the beginning that 25 to 30% of the students come in with the intention of applying to med school (in case of 1700 class size that would be around 500, but a lot of them do not follow through. So 297 being all seniors made sense. MIT on the other hand said 150 applied in 2011, but only 52 were graduating seniors.

txtaspg: My daughter decided on MIT. She will be doing bio-engineering. One of the things she factored in was that the the number of students applying to med schools from MIT is much less than at stanford. Only 52 graduating seniors at MIT applied to med schools in 2011.

At MIT the core is like a premed requirement core so that makes it nice everyone is taking these classes with you and not just premeds. The only biggie is keeping up the GPA at MIT needed for med school.
