Also worth mentioning, on another thread, a user actually called Stanford admissions and they told him they start rolling NEXT WEEK. Hope that helps.
Wow - early this year! thanks @Snekfest
I hope you are right! That would be so awesome!
@Snekfest Any idea what day, specifically?
I just solved a super hard problem from a European math journal! I just submitted the paper today, so I sent in an application update, I don’t know how much it will help this late in the game though.
Hey peeps! Stanford’s application deadline for transfers was 3/15. I was told by admissions that if you submitted your application by 3/1 you were guaranteed a decision by May 1st.
I submitted my application on 2/24, so I hope that is true!!
*ON May 1st, not BY May 1st.
@JellyPeeps sounds interesting given they don’t do rolling decisions. Perhaps everyone is going to find out on 5/1
I submitted mine late
@JellyPeeps did Stanford admissions actually say this or is this just pure speculation?
@bros20000 My post literally says “I was told by admissions…” Ha, ha. Unless admissions is speculating. I had to speak with admissions with regards to my standardized test scores. So I talked to an actual human twice. They told me a couple of things related to my specific application and then said to get my app in by March 1st to get a decision on May 1st. And I corrected my original post because I meant to say ON not BY.
As to what happens, IDK. I am going by what they told me. I made sure to submit mine before March 1st just in case. Now, my college report didn’t make it until March 21st, so IDK what that will mean for me, whether the application had to be in or the application and all supporting documents had to be in.
@heroicacuau @thestandard @IndirectProofs I got the heads up from a comment on the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship thread. He said he called admissions and thats what the schools told him. Of course I would take everything with a grain of salt but with @JellyPeeps 's call we can expect at least SOMETHING perhaps around early may to be safe.
Hello guys. I just want anyone to give me an input what additional classes I should take to strenghten my application. I didn’t apply this year but I will for next Fall. There is only one EE course at my school which is Intro to EE. I’m not sure if it will make a difference. Here are my stats. NOTE: I do understand Stanford has an abysmal acceptance rate.
Major: Electrical Engineering
Current GPA: 3.83
Prereqs: Calculus series, Linear Algebra, Differential Equation, Chem 1 and 2, and IGETC.
ACT: will be taking it this September
EC: Army veteran, deployed multiple times to Iraq, Kuwait, Thailand and Malaysia, Tee Ball Coach and Physics Lab TA
Letter of Recommendation: Physics and Math professors, and my last troop commander.
I will be rooting for you guys this upcoming decision. GOOD LUCK!
The wait is killing me
Has anyone else called to see about the May 1st thing Bc I called them and they kept telling me it’s going to me May 15 or just a few days earlier?
@bros20000 That would make more sense.
I have given up thinking I will here back on anything until May 15th. If I receive any notifications before that, i will be pleasantly surprised.
their website literally says they will release decisions on May 15.
@neilsola they’ve never waited that long in the past 8+ years. Decisions have generally come out 5/4-5/8 despite them listing that 5/15 date every year
Just wanted to add to this thread that I sent out an additional email to my state’s admission officer, and there was an automated message sent back that they are out of office until 5/14. Gives me the idea that they’ve likely wrapped up the decisions…
