<p>I bet that the amount of athletic recruiting Stanford must do makes getting in harder than it seems. Still, the difference in difficulty between getting into Stanford and MIT is negligible.</p>

<p>if you're women, MIT is MUCH easier for you since stanford doesn't have AA for women. </p>
<p>asian will kill u in both schools, but i've heard rumors saying stanford takes preference to CA kids...others say that stanford is largely a regional school so there are just more applicants.</p>
<p>but i think the women advantage overscedes the regional advantage/disadvantage anyway, so mit might be much easier for u.
(of course it's still farily hard, just not as hard as for an asian male)</p>
