<p>I would really like to go to Stanford because it is close to home. I basically would go to stanford over any other college period. </p>
<p>But i just got accepted to PLME and am now in a wonderful dilemma. </p>
<p>I value stanford over brown, but I am not sure if stanford is still better than PLME.</p>
<p>My question basically is this: is a decent medical school (like Brown's) so ridiculously hard to get into that going to Brown's would be worth the distance and difference to me?</p>
<p>On that note, How is the PLME undergraduate experience different from that of a regular ivy-level school?</p>
<p>Are there any other reasons you want to go to Stanford other than that it is close to home? That’s the only one you mentioned, but there should be more than that. </p>
<p>PLME as an undergraduate is different from being a regular undergrad, or in any other BS/MD program for that matter, because of loose requirements to go onto the medical school (they used to have a 3.0 gpa requirement, but even did away with that recently).</p>
<p>Allow me to clarify–I love Stanford’s community and after visiting I feel that it is a great fit for me personally. It is a top notch university and i know that I’d be able to benefit from its great medical center as well.</p>
