Stanford, what are my chances?

I am a male hispanic student who really wants to go to Stanford!

high school: public

High reach due to your SAT scores and ACT scores

they wont accept you with those scores, sorry. its already a crap shoot at my school with the best kids in my class applying with near perfect scores

I’m going to be blunt here… but you won’t get in. I’d suggest shooting for “lower” schools.

Despite the fact that being a URM helps you, it doesn’t help you enough to negate the fact that there are many URMs applying to Stanford with much, much better stats than yours. Your ACT and SAT scores are both far below Stanford’s range, and your AP scores aren’t so good either. Plus, your extracurriculars pale in comparison compared to those of kids accepted by Stanford.

thanks for all your honest opinions. what kind of “lower” schools would you recommend?

Impossible.

nothing is ever impossible.

Improbable.

perhaps some UC’s… if you live in Cali

Highly unlikely, but not impossible. Is it possible that a blind man can drive his way back home? Yes. But would you ever count on it? no.

Why are you reviving years old thread?
