<p>Ok guys, Im a junior in HS and I'm already starting to worry about getting into college. I'm just learning about this whole application process</p>
<p>During the summer, I started a non-profit charity company with my family. I am the CEO, or in the case of a non profit, an executive director. The whole point of the company is that we allow people to be able to buy gifts for underprivileged families over the internet, as opposed to those gift boxes that you always see during Christmas time.We function locally on Long Island, and have established connections with several churches, social workers on the island.
I personally did ALOT of the work, such as designing the website on photoshop, presenting the service to churches, working on getting the company high on the google page rank and also going to address a crowd of over 200 people at my dad's companies' sales kickoff. </p>
<p>I feel like it deserves a lot more than the little space in the Extra Curriculars section of my resume. </p>
<p>I already plan on writing my essay using this experience, but what about sending other documents(such as business plan, website screenshots,etc?)
is that allowed?
and can this possibly make up for a low GPA (91 unweighted, 95 weighted)? I wanna go to NYU (Stern), but according to the "chance" threads on these forums,I feel really uncertain about myself getting in.</p>
