Starting a new club

I want to start a new club but don't know exactly what it should be about. My school is already packed with clubs including things like knitting, roleplaying, future engineers, ect. I need help with ideas. I'm really interested in journalism, politics, and law.

Communist/socialism club! I think commies are way underrepresented, dont you?

theres a young socialists club in our school...

what about Mock Trial?

are you starting the club just to say you started it? it sounds like your school already has many clubs, so IDK if starting one will attract many members if there are already many clubs with committed members.

i just started Mondel UN at my school last year... has been quite interesting.

what is model un?

btw: im starting 4 clubs. im starting a culture club, a dont do drugs etc. club, a freshmen help club, and possibly a debate club.

hey heres a question, one of my teachers has been very negitive about starting a debate club, she says that theres not enough people interested, and that there are not enough schools that are willing to do it. i still want to do it. how can i get this across? im thinking im gonna get kids who want to do it to sign a petition sheet for me. that way i can try to convince her otherwise. any other thought?

if you start a debate club, start a JSA chapter (Junior State of America). It is a great national organization that has conferences and stuff that you can go to and debate at (isn't really competitive, but its really fun and cool). I'm going to a conference this weekend. Go to www.jsa.org for info. I think a JSA chapter would be the best for this type of club because a lot of the organization is already set up at the regional (called "States" but they are actually multiple states combined, i.e. Northeast State, etc) level. All you have to do is have debates at chapter meetings and then you can organize people to go to the conventions. They are pretty cheap and lots of fun.

The Model UN Club is a traveling team which participates in Model UN Conferences throughout the US (if you are good enough to make it to where you are traveling the US)... it takes a lot of time... its almost like a sport in a respect

this is a random question but can u start a club later this year. or does it have to be in the beginning of the year.?

It depends on your school.
