Starting All Over Again - College visit etiquette

My daughter has a plan to visit several colleges in one trip, when most of them are doing their fall musicals. The purpose of the trip is to check the production quality and notice whether the shows are well attended, etc. She mentioned that she would would like to try to meet faculty and perhaps schedule a voice lesson. This seems like an efficient plan, since these schools are more than a day's drive away. We have more than a month to set this up, but I am wondering who is going to want to take the time to meet her while trying to put on a show? I wouldn't even know how to begin to ask for that sort of favor. She will probably start to make her phone calls this week. Any tips?

Not sure about etiquette. I just went on the school’s website and researched the person who would be best to contact. I sent them an email just asking if it would be possible for my daughter to meet with faculty and check out the program. The person I talked to was very gracious and had no problem scheduling it.
