D decided over the weekend that her financial safety is too big, and she isn't really sure about any of the schools on her list.

I feel like we are back at square one.

Financial safety is IU-Bloomington. (in-state with automatic merit money, but we do live about 20 minutes away, she would live on campus) Other schools that were/are on her list include SLU, Loyola-Chicago, American, maybe Fordham, South Carolina, and possibly Clemson.

We've focused on schools were she might receive some merit money as need based aid is out of the picture (at least for her freshman year). H and I are both self-employed. We really are fearful of letting her start someplace we might not be able to afford a few years into it. (read $50,000/year COA) Our incomes can vary tremendously. We also have to keep in mind there will be a year we have two in college.

She thinks she wants to major in Spanish, definitely wants to study abroad, and is also considering an English major. Many LAC's are out because she wants at least 5000 students at her college. She thinks ideally her school will have about 7500-20,000.

I don't think I've ever posted her stats because it wasn't necessary, but now feel it might be helpful.

GPA--UW 3.85 W 4.26 All honors classes in academic subjects through soph year. Jr/Sr. year APs or honors in academic subjects. Her school doesn't rank, but we think she's in the top 10%.

SATs (single sitting) CR-710, M-660, W-620 (she said she knew W didn't matter so she saved her "energy" for the other sections.) She is willing to take SAT again.

SAT IIs--not good low 600's in Spanish and Math I (she took the wrong math test) She had been in a car accident the week before so was still a bit out of it.

Sorry this is so long, but any suggestions would be appreciated.
