In Illinois, we had to take the ACT, but they did not offer the writing portion for whatever reason. I just got my score back:

Composite: 33
English: 35
Math: 32
Reading: 34
Science: 32

I previously took the ACT in October and got these scores:

Composite: 32
English: 31
Math: 32
Reading: 33
Science: 31
Essay: 10

So I was wondering, do I need to retake the ACT in June for schools that require the Writing portion or can/should I send them both?

Depends on where you are applying. Contact your tol schools to find out their policy.

My DD is in a similar situation. She is taking in June because a few of her schools will not allow combination of scores.

I actually asked about this specifically when I visted schools, including Duke, Emory and Penn. I also called Stanford to ask about it. All schools said that with Illinois you can submit the PSAE ACT score and they will consider it so long as they have a score from another ACT with writing.
