<p>I plan on applying to the state dept internship for the summer of 2013</p>

<p>Can anyone give some insight and advice on writing the essay and what they are looking for in an intern?</p>

<p>the state department wants what everyone wants… smart, strong writer, foreign language capability, etc</p>

<p>the State Department has about 1000 intern positions and gets 12000+ applications.</p>
