<p>I have a feeling the dorm rooms are going to look like a clown car @ a circus.</p>

<p>Dorms already look like a circus or such due to the inhabitants- here they are self sufficient, ie budget cuts won't affect them (and they don't try to cram 3 in a double, either). Rates go up to pay increased costs and they are cheaper than much of the private housing available.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, college budgets are taking hits almost everywhere, private or public. States are pulling back a lot and privates have the market to contend with.</p>

<p>There may be some hue and cry from the history faculty at WSU. I recently read an article that indicated the recently (less than a year ago) hired provost resigned his position, and expects to take up the contract provision that allows him to revert to a faculty position at the salary of $245,000 (perhaps salary and benefits?) while the average salary in the history department is somewhere in the $70 K range.</p>
