Hello,
I am a hs senior and although I wish to branch out of the state and go to a university outside of Mississippi, I still need an in-state option. I have pretty heavily researched both MSU and Ole Miss (University of Mississippi) and still cannot come to a conclusion on which I want to attend.

I love State's programs, people, and academics. I dislike the rural atmosphere, and I hear many rumors of the "religion freaks" and "Bible thumpers."

With Ole Miss, I like what I hear about the nice campus, good food, and ease of making friends (although I'd imagine that's all the same with state). The rumors of "stuck-ups" and "******bags" make me second guess myself also. I also am concerned with the academic rigor (or lack of) at Ole Miss.

I have never visited either of the schools, but I plan to. So far, I've only gone by rumors from State/Ole Miss friends and my hs friends.

Here's some info about me:
GPA in the Mid-90's
Top 10% of my class
Exceptional test scores, but my ACT score could be better
AP classes, with a 4 on the Psych exam and Studio Art
National Honor Society
Vice President of Youth Legislature
Psychology Club, Art Club, Key Club, etc.
TONS of volunteer community service
I'm an artist
I love and excel in the science subjects (Biology, Chem, Physics, Psychology)

I've been accepted to both schools as an undecided major. I'm not sure if I want to pursue the sciences or graphic design. I'm stuck between Neuroscience/Psych/Bio, and graphic design. I love them both equally and money doesn't really matter to me.

Which school is better for my interests/academic caliber? I want to be able to do research if I choose the science path, and I want to be in a really good design program if I choose that path. I know MSU is more of an agriculture/engineering/science school, and Ole Miss is more liberal/international/law/business school.

If anyone could clear up any rumors and provide helpful info, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks so much.
