Statics prep

I’m taking statics this fall quarter and wanted to know since I haven’t taken linear algebra yet if it’s going to be harder. I finished calculus and will be taking ODE in the fall as well.

Linear algebra can definitely help with statics, but the vast majority of students who take statics haven’t taken linear alegbra yet (at least when I took it).

Sorry, I read “statics” as “statistics!”

boneh3ad, are you saying that knowledge of linear algebra isn’t required to do well in statics? Because when I took physics 1 last fall we were doing vector calculus which wasn’t a pre-req for the class and not something I learned calc 3. My school is on the quarter system so calculus is 4 quarters.

You don’t need linear algebra for an average undergraduate statics course.
