I'm registered to take statics this summer (5 weeks). It is the only course I am taking, but I will be working ~20hrs/week too. I made an A in Phys I and from what I hear it is just a lot of newtons 2nd law.

Has anyone taken statics over the summer? If not, and you have taken statics, is there anything you would recommend before taking it in the summer?

Thanks, Chuck

5 weeks will be a blistering pace… but I think you will be fine. I did, however, find statics to be one of the more difficult classes I’ve taken so far.

it has nothing to do with physics haha.
Its more mechanics, its fairly easy class. Not too much tricky stuff.

I think you’ll do fine. I found statics to be one of the easiest classes I’ve taken because you basically have to sum your forces to be zero, solve some matrix and you would be basically done.

i really liked statics, its mostly just mechanics. it’s kind of similar to physics 1 in that you will be using free body diagrams for equating forces for most of the course. brush up on your trig and you should be fine.

Statics is not that difficult, several base concepts to learn. I recommend the website yourotherteacher.com They offer a subscription service where you log into and follow video tutorials on problems.
