Statistics by State

Does anyone have any information on admissions statistics broken down by state, i.e. number of apps and acceptances? I am most interested in CT as that is where I am from. Thanks.

Probably a lower overall acceptance rate than most states, sorry.

What about Flordia? Can someone please tell me (although you guys probably don't know)

Also very interested in these stats.

I was looking for state stats too but I had no luck finding any - not sure if they release them at all.

My interviewer actually told me the number of acceptances from my state in my interview. I think it was like 3 or 4 last year.

Maybe this link will help:

<a href="http://vpf-web.harvard.edu/budget/factbook/03-04/undergrad_residence_4a.html%5B/url%5D">http://vpf-web.harvard.edu/budget/factbook/03-04/undergrad_residence_4a.html</a></p>

yep. those stats include the number who enrolled and were at harvard college in 2003. So divide that number by four and it gives you an estimate on how many accepted students matriculated.

In general, the ratio of accepted students to students who apply at all is better in Harvard's "underrepresented" regions, but I've never seen specific figures for my state, as I have for several other highly selective colleges. Harvard is pretty competitive for any applicant, but it is probably especially competitive for applicants from high-population states in the northeast.
