Stats of A/D/R

any international student here? i heard BMC has a pretty diverse community :)

hey i am an INtl student applying RD.. good luck zoha!

I'm also an international applying Rd :) One thing that bothers me a bit, though is my third SAT II score. I have 710 on Writing and Math, and a 650 on World History. Would that affect the admissions decision?

And good luck to all of you!

i hope not.. i am in the same situation as you ..2 good SAT 2 scores and 1 which i hope wont affect the admissions decision..but i am hoping they ll consider other things as well..
good luck to eveyone applying!

dreamin', hope is all I have right now, since I cannot retake World History:)
Anyway, a friend advised me to send my score if it is in the 600-650 range. Also, I don't believe any school would reject a student only for one average score. If all other parts of your application are fine, then this score should not be a problem:)
Where do you come from, by the way?

Thanx vesselina :-), i am applying from Singapore. What about you?
Are there any other intls applying as well :-)

I come from Bulgaria:) By the way, would you apply to other women's colleges or are you particularly interested in Bryn Mawr?
Actually, I supposed there would be more intls applying to Bryn Mawr, and probably there are :) maybe they simply haven't seen the thread...

hey guys!! good to see people from around the globe here!

guyzzz relax! sat 2' scores dunt matter that much! they'll just be happy to see that youve given them! my scores sucked big time

590 in writing

hahahaa pretty pathetic eh! yeahhhh but they took me in..surprisingly :O other shtuff like essays (especially why you chose bryn mawr and the roommate one) and recommendations matter a lot too!:)

haha thanx! i am still working on my "why bryn mawr" essay..well it would be great to get in and meet all you wonderful people! sorry for asking but what were your SAT1's like? :-)
vesselina, i probably am applying to a few more colleges just to be on the safe side but yes..i would love to attend Bryn Mawr. what about you? Bryn Mawr only?

haha my sat 1's sucked as well! 1150 man! and i gave it only once! haha! oh well...no more applying to colleges for moi, did ED to bmc! im sure youll get in Dreamin'
:)

haha thanx a bunch zoha! its amazing how supportive everyone on CC is! would love to meet all you guys when i get to the States..

dreamin', I'm also applying to Mount Holyoke, Smith and other LACs, which I do not consider safeties at all - they're all pretty selective schools, but I really want to attend them.
I want to ask you an off-topic question. Did you get your writing sample? As an international, in my home country students generally don't write papers which are later graded by teachers. So, basically I have no idea how to send a writing sample...any inputs would be helpful

I am going to be sending an essay i did in English class. But I do have a few friends who specifically asked their teachers to grade a piece of work so that they could send it off to colleges that required them. Would any of your teachers be willing to do that? Possibly in a class in which you write well? If not I would e-mail Bryn Mawr and explain the situation to them.

Probably the best thing to do would be to ask directly Bryn Mawr. By the way, I found an essay written for an English class last year, so I might as well send this one.
Good luck with the application process! :)

Hey that's good! Well good luck to everyone!
