Stay in Germany or study in the US

Hi everyone,

Im currently working towards my BS in EE at the Darmstadt University of Technology in Germany (its the best German University for EE along with Aachen and Karlsruhe).
I definitely want to live in the states, even wanted to do my undergraduate degree over there but couldn't due to the financial crisis. Anyway, there are several options I have, and I want to know which might be best for employment and Visa chances:

M.S. in Germany and do an exchange year at UIUC (for free :) )

M.S.in Germany and do an exchange year at UIUC, take some PhD classes and move on to do my PhD at UIUC once I've graduated in Germany

Try to do M.S./PhD at a top University in America

I think I have decent chances to get into a good PhD program as I have really good grades (top of the class), and would probably get good recommendations.

Thanks in advance! :)

If your goal is to live and work in the States, then the second or third options are probably ideal. Getting exposure to industry and academia on this side of the pond will help immensely whn it comes to getting a job after earning your degree.
