<p>I know that UCSD doesn't offer any type of dental major program and that UCI does. I was wondering if transferring out of UCSD to UCI will be smarter in terms of my major. If there are any dental majors here will they please enlighten me on the steps they are taking for dental school?</p>
<p>Like Med School, it doesn't matter what you major in, as long as you have the requirements needed ( and do well on the DAT's).......</p>
<p>If you think you can do better at one or the other, go for it. Don't feel pressured to go to UCI for a major that won't significantly increase your chances.</p>

<p>dnduswo: Yes, I know about hygiene programs...I thought the OP was talking about pre-dent with the objective of going on to dental school.....Here on the east coast, most hygiene programs are taught at the community college or trade school level...not sure about west coast....</p>
